localLOOP monorepo - licensing terms

This repository contains material under several licences. Each file's
licence is stated either in an SPDX header inside the file
(SPDX-FileCopyrightText / SPDX-License-Identifier) or, for files that cannot
carry a header, in REUSE.toml at the repository root. REUSE.toml and those
headers are the machine-readable source of truth (REUSE Specification 3.3);
this file is the human-readable summary. Where this summary and a file's
SPDX information differ, the SPDX information applies.

Full licence texts are in LICENSES/. Attribution notices are in NOTICE, and
third-party components are listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md.

1. MIT (default terms for first-party code and content, full text below)
   - apps/backend/**   backend API: source, scripts, tests, deploy files,
                       configuration and documentation
   - apps/site/**      documentation hub: source, styles, scripts, tests,
                       configuration, documentation and first-party images
                       (for example the lab-demo-*.svg diagrams), except the
                       third-party and brand files listed in sections 3-4
   - ops/org-profile/** historical organisation profile
   - scripts/**, .github/**, docs/** and files at the repository root,
     except where sections 3-5 say otherwise
   - protocol/ code and machine-readable artefacts: schemas/, examples/,
     scripts/, contexts/*.jsonld, openapi.json, profiles/** except Markdown
     (schemas, requirements, conformance vectors and runners, fixtures),
     package.json, package-lock.json, .gitignore and CI configuration
     (.github/workflows/protocol.yml)

2. CC-BY-SA-4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International)
   - protocol/ prose: SPECIFICATION.md, docs/**, rfcs/**, the Markdown files
     under profiles/**, and the Markdown files at the top of protocol/
     (README.md, CHANGELOG.md, CONTRIBUTING.md, SECURITY.md,
     DOMAIN-POLICY.md, PROJECT_STRUCTURE.md)
   - the generated copy of protocol/ served by the site
     (apps/site/public/projects/loop-protocol/**) follows the same split as
     the files it copies
   - every CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md: adapted from the Contributor Covenant,
     version 3.0 (https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/3/0/),
     stewarded by the Organization for Ethical Source and licensed under
     CC BY-SA 4.0

3. LicenseRef-Mycel-Brand (all rights reserved; see
   LICENSES/LicenseRef-Mycel-Brand.txt)
   - the names and marks "localLOOP" and "LOOP"
   - apps/site/public/assets/local-loop-logo.png
   - apps/site/public/favicon.ico, apps/site/public/favicon.svg
   - apps/site/public/assets/images/localloop-0*-16x9.webp (six concept
     images)
   - docs/assets/brand/** and docs/assets/screenshots/**
   Nominative or descriptive use of the names to refer to the project is
   permitted as described in that file. The MIT and CC-BY-SA-4.0 grants in
   this repository do not cover brand assets.

4. Third-party material (each under its own licence; see
   THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md)
   - apps/site/public/assets/fonts/**: Fraunces, Space Grotesk and IBM Plex
     Mono, SIL Open Font License 1.1 (OFL-1.1)

   - apps/backend/vendor/redoc/**: Redoc 3.0.1 standalone bundle, MIT,
     Copyright (c) 2015-present, Rebilly, Inc.
   - apps/site/public/assets/loop-basemap.webp: map image derived from
     OpenStreetMap; map data (c) OpenStreetMap contributors, available under
     the Open Database License (ODbL-1.0)
   - npm dependencies are not committed; they are installed at build time
     and keep their own licences (listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md)

5. LicenseRef-Mycel-Proprietary (internal records, no rights granted; see
   LICENSES/LicenseRef-Mycel-Proprietary.txt)
   - ops/ledger/**

Per-tree LICENSE files (apps/backend/LICENSE, apps/site/LICENSE,
protocol/LICENSE, ops/org-profile/LICENSE) restate the terms for each tree so
that a tree remains correctly licensed when it is copied or shipped on its
own.

This repository is private. Access to it does not by itself grant any rights
beyond the licences stated above, and planned future releases grant no
rights until they are published.
